Tag, You're It!

I created a Graduation Celebration ATC for the post I shared yesterday. For today's post, I've used that ATC to create the tag for the "Tag, You're It!" Challenge on the DRS Designs blog. I love how my tag turned out and how all the details on this card came together!

For instructions on how the ATC was created, please see yesterday's post. To create it into a tag, all I did was cut a white piece of cardstock down to size and then ran just the upper portion through the Cuttlebug using one of the labels dies. Then I used the Horizontal slot punch to make the opening at the top of the tag for the ribbon tail and adhered the ATC to it.

The card base measures 4.25" x 5.5". On the cardfront, I used Versamark and stamped it with the Graduation Background (984H). Then I embossed a small back panel with the Swiss Dots folder and added a white decorative border, and adhered it just off center as shown. The tag was then adhered on top on an angle. I heat embossed the ConGRADulations Greeting (867D) on vellum, decorated it with a border punch and adhered it to the bottom of the card front. Don't you agree this all came together nicely?

Thanks for stopping by to check out how I incorporated yesterday's ATC into today's card!
Have a great day!

Graduation Celebration ATC

It's been awhile since I've made an ATC but since DRS Designs is this week's sponsor for the Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge, I decided to give it a try. One thing I really like about ATC's is the small space you have to work on, which makes them quick to complete! For those of you who are unfamiliar with them, they measure only 2.5" x 3.5". The size alone can be a challenge in itself! The theme for this sponsorship is "Quotes and Words" with the focus being on the sentiment. I used this challenge to create this Graduation Celebration ATC.

I used the upper portion of the Culmination Graduation Greeting (1126K) as the focal point of my ATC. I thought the wording was a little plain on the white cardstock so I stamped the Brush Mortarboard (287G) using the stamp-off technique with green ink on top of the wording. Then I embellished it with a green decorative border on both ends and green grosgrain tied in a knot at the bottom. To finish it off, it was adhered to a black base.

I plan on using this ATC to complete another project. Please check back to see it in a future blog post. In the meantime, give this ATC challenge a try! Check out all the details HERE for a chance to win a great prize from DRS Designs.

Have a great day!

What's Your Suit?

DRS Designs is this week's sponsor on the Wicked Wednesday ATC Blog.  For playing along with the challenge theme "Show Us Your Suit" you could win a $15 store voucher to DRS Designs.  Appropriate images for this challenge would be playing cards, poker images, card suits etc. Remember, you have to create an ATC for this challenge! Here's mine:

This was made using DRS Designs 4 suits vertical (1134F) and the soon to be released Big Deal Birthday Greeting (852D).  (Shhh, don't tell anyone I used it! *wink*) Then I used the ATC as a part of this card:

Finished card size is 5.5" x 4.25."

It's A Jungle...Part Two

Hi Friends, Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Today I'm sharing the second part of my previous post.  The "It's A Jungle Out There" ATC Challenge on the Wicked Wednesday Challenge Blog this week is sponsored by DRS Designs.  I've used the ATC I created for the challenge on this card, and the layout I've used is a sketch from Splitcoast, SC418.

All of the stamps are by DRS Designs. I've used Jenny Giraffe (859G), Vicki's Versatile Background (369H), and the Jungle Out There (908D) sentiment.  A thin hemp rope decorated the top of the card front and the sentiment was put on a fun banner pennant.

If you're up for a quick and easy challenge check out all of the Wicked Wednesday Challenge details HERE!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's A Jungle...Part One

The Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week is "It's A Jungle Out There." I created this cute ATC using DRS Designs Jenny Giraffe (859G) which was colored with Copic Markers. I used a Post-It Note to sponge in the ground line and then I tried getting a little creative with the tree. I used the Spooky Bat Tree (406H) for the tree trunk, cut off the moon and then covered the upper portion with leaf punchies punched from cardstock scraps.

If you like to make ATC's, I encourage you to play along and link yours HERE. DRS Designs is giving away a $15.00 voucher toward FREE stamps!

Stay tuned for my next post.  I'll be showing 'It's A Jungle Part 2!' where I'll use this ATC on a card and I promise it will be just as cute!

Have a great weekend!

Moonlight and Magic

Hi Stampers! Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a wonderful week!
Today I'd like to share with you the details about this week's Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge. DRS Designs is their sponsor and for playing along, you have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the DRS Designs store.  The theme is "Full Moon."

It's been a really long time since I've created any sort of ATC's, so I decided to take this opportunity to create a Halloween ATC and then I used it to create a card. If you're familiar with ATC's, you know that they are only 2.5" x 3.5" in size. It was a nice change to work on a smaller scale! The Halloween scene on my ATC was created using 3 stamps from DRS Designs: the Spooky Tree with Moon (070L), the Accent Bats (517A), and a portion of the Moonlight and Magic Halloween Greeting (609G). Everything was colored with Copic Markers, even the background--I originally started with white cardstock! I used a scalloped rectangle die to create a mat for the scene and used an ATC sized piece of yellow shimmer cardstock for the base. I thought the black ribbon completed it nicely.

Then I created this card by adding a little texture with a star embossing folder, some star-shaped rhinestones, and yummy purple and yellow plaid ribbon. I used the remaining portion of the Moonlight and Magic greeting at the top, and the ATC was added at the bottom. Viola! Another Halloween card was complete!

Please check out all of the wonderful ATC's created by the Wicked Wednesday DT and link your ATC for a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wizard of Oz

Back in April when I went on the stamping weekend with the girls from the Stamp Shack, we all decided to create ATC's with a Wizard of Oz theme. I signed up for the "house falling" theme because I had the perfect stamp from DRS Designs for it.

I used a small portion of the Death of a Witch (L1045) stamp. I colored it with Copic Markers and added Xmas Red Stickles to the "Ruby Slippers."  I created the text "Ding, Dong, The Witch is Dead!" on my computer.

I can't wait to see what everyone else does for the other themes!
Hope you enjoyed seeing these!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun!

Ready for a quick and easy challenge this week from Sunflowers and Dragonflies?  We want you to make Artist Trading Card's!  I love working on the small 2.5" x 3.5" surface of an ATC--The small scale allows me to work quickly & you really can't do anything too difficult since you are limited by the size. They really are that easy, won't you join us in this challenge? This week is about all of the different styles of ATC Art out there!

Here are the 2 ATC's I created for this weeks challenge project.

I used Lottie (green and yellow one) and Amber (pink and blue one) on my "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" ATC's. Both of them are from the Beautiful Life series sold by Sunflowers and Dragonflies, and were were colored with Copic markers. I used a paper punch for the "Fun" design.  The striped paper used for the ATC base on the Amber ATC is by Basic Grey and can also be purchase in the Sunflowers and Dragonflies store.

I also wanted to share with you 2 other ATC's I made with these ladies awhile back.  They don't fit with my "Girls just want to have fun" theme, but they are ATC's, so they fit this weeks challenge.  These stamps are sized perfectly for ATC's and they are fun to work with too!

To be eligible for this weeks prize drawing, please post a direct link to your challenge project from either your blog or an online gallery to the Sunflowers and Dragonflies Blog, specifically on the Challenge #27 Blog Post, so we can view it. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword SD27.

Make sure to participate by next Friday, Feb 5th to be eligible to
Win any two Ladies from the Beautiful Life series and their matching flourishes!
Good Luck!

Christmas Candy ATC!

I just completed another ATC swap over at the Stamp Shack.  This one was titled "Christmas Candy."

I strayed away from the candy part a bit & used a Christmas Gingerbread cookie image instead.  Both the image and the sentiment are from DRS Designs.  I used my rectangle Nestabilities for the ATC base--it's slightly smaller than the 2.5" x 3.5" standard ATC measurement, but I liked the change from the straight line border.

Cute lil fella, huh? I think he's one of my favorite Christmas stamps!

It's time for the 13th blog challenge from the Sunflowers & Dragonflies Creative Designs DT!
This week were challenging you to create anything to do with women! Yep, that's right--show off your images of beautiful ladies!

Sunflowers & Dragonflies will be releasing these 2 images from the series "Beautiful Life," this Monday, October 19th. I used them for this week's my beautiful ladies challenge project!

Stamps: Sunflowers and Dragonflies Creative Designs- Beautiful Life Series- Amber and Lottie, and Amber Flourish Background Stamp
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, SU! Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Brown Ribbon by Ribbon Fx, Red Ribbon & gold Spiral Clip by The Paper Studio,
Finished Card Size: 2.5" x 3.5"

I couldn't help but notice the size of these stamps when I first received them. They both measure approximately 1.75" x 2.5." I immediately thought how perfect they'd be on ATC's!

Lottie is in red, and Amber is in blue. Both were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol. I stamped the Amber Flourish background stamp with brown ink for the background of my Amber ATC. I love these images! I really enjoyed "making them up too!" It's not often that I get to play make-up artist! LOL!

So, are you up for trying our Beautiful Ladies challenge? Anyone can play along! There are no limits on time or supplies. Of course we’d prefer that you use images by Sunflowers and Dragonflies, but feel free to use other images. Spooky Witch Greetings

Halloween is not too far away now.
The ghosts, goblins, and witches will be out before we know it!

I used this cute little witch & sentiment from Rubbernecker to make ATC's for a Wacky Witch ATC swap I'm in at the Stamp Shack.

Stamps: Rubbernecker
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, SU! Barely Banana
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Colored Cardstock by The Paper Company
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Bic Markers, Yellow Stickles
Finished Card Size: 3.5" x 2.5"

This ATC's was mostly colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol, but I also used a little bit of marker too. I sponged yellow ink around the image to soften the white cardstock up a bit and added yellow Stickles to Jack-O-Lantern's eyes, nose, and mouth.

Isn't she sweet? Practically too sweet to be spooky, huh?

I love working on the small 2.5" x 3.5" surface of an ATC--The small scale allows me to work quickly & you really can't do anything too difficult since you are limited by the size. This week's prize is the Alice In Wonderland Stamp Set!
Deadline is next Friday October 16th.

I seem to be in the Holiday mood lately on my blog so I thought I'd continue it with this challenge as well. I used the Winter Tree from the Four Seasons Set cut from white cardstock as the focal point of my ATC. I colored it with marker and added Stickles to the "mounds of snow" at the tree base. I computer generated the "Winter Wishes" sentiment and used a snow flake border punch to accent the Winter theme. I added a pop of color by adding a red bow to the tree. This tree is decorated for the holidays!

Stamps: Sunflowers and Dragonflies Creative Designs- Winter Tree from the Four Seasons Set
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Colored Cardstock by The Paper Company
Accessories: Bic Markers, Silver Ice Stickles, EK Success Snowflake Border Punch, Ribbon unknown, SU! Word Window Punch,

Anyone For Candy Corn?

Happy Monday!

The weekends sure fly by, don't they? I had a nice relaxing weekend, and I spent majority of it working on numerous stamping projects. It was wonderful! I wish I could have more weekends like this--sometimes I'm really bummed that I work in a hospital where we have weekend hours that have to covered. But, all in all, when I see the healing process in my patients and see their faces when they're feeling 100% better, it's all worth it! I can't help but wish I had more "home" time though, and I'm sure many of you can relate!

One of the projects I worked on was this Candy Corn ATC for a swap on the Stamp Shack. Tis the season for Candy Corn!

The candy corn pattern paper was actually made by me! I started with smooth white cardstock and stamped the Candy Corn Background by DRS Designs with orange ink. Then I just colored the bottom portion of the candy pieces with a yellow marker. (Talk about quick and easy! I had my background in no time!) The sentiment is actually part of a larger stamp, but I only had room for the "Happy Halloween!" part of it--I sometimes forget how small ATC's actually are!

Stamps: DRS Designs- Candy Corn Background (H633), Witching you a Happy Halloween (F1040)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, SU! Only Orange
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Colored Cardstock by The Paper Company
Accessories: Bic Markers, SU! Ticket Corner Punch, Satin Ribbon By Offray
Finished Card Size: 3.5" x 2.5"

Well, that's it for today...short and sweet! I'm busy preparing projects to post later this week.
Thanks for visiting today!

Sunny Sunflower ATC's

Back in June, I joined a Sunflower ATC swap over at the Stamp Shack. Although I have a ton of Sunflower stamps, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to make mine. I hadn't given it much thought and it still seemed like a challenge to me since I'm rather new to the ATC scene. Overtime I forgot about--the due date isn't until mid-September, so I knew I had plenty of time to figure out what I wanted to make for this swap.

It wasn't until last week when I made this card, that everything fell into place & I inspired myself! Have you ever done that?

Here are the Sunny Sunflower ATC's that I worked on this past weekend for this swap.

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Then I masked the sunflower and sponged blue ink around the flower petals, and stamped the sentiment at the top. Once I had it adhered to the yellow cardstock background I added my favorite Yellow Stickles to each petal to really make it "pop!"

Stamps: Sunflower by Kodomo Inc., sentiment by A Muse
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink French Blue
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Colored Cardstock by American Crafts
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Yellow Stickles
Finished Card Size: 2.5" x 3.5"

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers, along with Gerbera Daisies, maybe because they are so similar in shape?? What's your favorite flower?

Friends ATC

I decided to take the plunge into the world of ATC's! I thought I'd never get into them! The cards I tend to make are always large--I have a hard enough time trying to stay within the limits of an A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") that I never thought I'd ever have interest in 2.5" x 3.5"!

Boy, how quickly things change! LOL!

The one I have to show you today is for a swap titled "Memories of Shackapolooza." Shackapolooza is a get together we do with members of the Stamp Shack every year in April.

I decided to go with the "Friends" theme for my ATC. I thought that was perfect because we are friends, online friends, that we talk to everyday, but only see each other once a year or so if that. (Lucky for me I have a few Shack friends who live close to me that I see quite often!)

Stamps: Brush Daffodil image by DRS Designs, Sentiment by Rubbernecker
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink in Yellow Ochre
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Colored Cardstock by The Paper Company
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Brads by All My Memories
Finished ATC Size: 2.5" x 3.5"

I've recently joined several ATC Swaps--Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere, Sunny Sunflowers, Wacky Witch, and Candy Corn! You can bet you'll be seeing more of them from me in the near future.

Have you joined the ATC craze?

Jennifer

Autumn ATC

I made this ATC a while ago to experiment with different color inks and forgot that I had made it. It was lost in the mess on my craft table. Sound familiar? I'm sure many of you can relate! LOL!

I created this design on smooth white cardstock, and matted it with metallic copper Bazzill cardstock. The Zig Zag image and sentiment are heat embossed with copper embossing powder. The leaves behind the sentiment are stamped-off.

Stamps: DRS Designs- Zig Zag Card Edger, Small Silhouette Leaf, The Beauty of Autumn Sentiment
Ink: Rubber Stampede Embossing Ink, Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink in Olive Pastel, Tangerine, Chestnut, Yellow Ochre
Paper: Smooth white cardstock by Office Depot, Bazzill Cardstock
Accessories: Copper Embossing powder-unknown, chalk by Inkadinkado

Sorry for the quick post today, but rest-assured, tomorrow I'll have 2 posts to share with you! Don't forget tomorrow's Fun Filled Friday Challenge was to create a card with Scallops. Did you get a chance to do it?

Jennifer

ATC Challenge

Have you seen the new challenge posted today by DRS Designs? The challenge is to make an Artist Trading Card (ATC). For all you ATC lovers out there, this one's for you! We'd love for you to join us in our challenges. Make sure to hang on to the ATC you make and check back to join in on the second part of this challenge in 2 weeks! Be sure to post a comment with a direct link to your project so we can come check it out! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword DRSC3.

For those of you unfamiliar with ATC's you can see a tutorial here. ATC's are small pieces of art that measure 3.5" x 2.5." They can be used for trading with other artists, or be used as an embellishment when creating a larger art piece, such as on a greeting card etc.

The weather here in Michigan is hot and humid again, near 90 degrees, so I'm thinking of the Holidays again to cool off. This snowman from DRS Designs is perfect for that!

To make this ATC, I first stamped and colored the snowman image with markers. Then I trimmed the white cardstock down around him, and used my corner rounder punch on each corner. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the Happy Holidays as shown. (The "Happy Holidays" sentiment is actually one stamp, however, when I stamped it, I only inked up the word I wanted.) Next, I matted it with dark blue cardstock and used the corner rounder on it as well.

I created my ATC base by first cutting my red cardstock to ATC size. Then I found a coordinating light blue piece of cardstock from my scraps and cut it so that when matted with the red cardstock you could see a thin border of red around it. I decorated it with the snowflake background and light blue ink. After I did this I thought it looked a little plain, so I ran it through my snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder to give it some texture. To make the base match my matted image piece, I used the corner rounder on it as well.

I added red grosgrain ribbon down the center of the ATC to add more red to ATC without going overboard. Next, I adhered the matted image in the center of the ATC. I added Stickles to the snowman as a final touch and set it aside to dry. You can see the sparkle of the Stickles really well in the picture below. Sorry it has a yellow tint!

  • Stamps: DRS Designs-Simply a Snowman, Happy Holidays, Snowflake Background
  • Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Colorbox Fluid Chalk in Azurite Blue and Warm Red
  • Paper: Smooth white cardstock from Office Depot, Bazzill Cardstock
  • Accessories: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Icicle Stickles by Ranger, EK Success Corner Rounder Punch, Bic Markers, Bobbie M. Designs Red Grosgrain Ribbon
