Of course, Spring is the perfect time of year for a floral challenge and you can find the Bloomin' Beautiful Blog challenge this week over at DRS Designs. One of the most prevalent flowers in my yard right now are dandelions, so I thought this spring card made with the Dandelion Puff (380G) was a perfect fit!
This card was started by heat embossing the Dandelion Puff in fine, black embossing powder on vellum. Then I sponged each of the puffs with yellow ink. The vellum was adhered to white card stock and a decorative border punch was used at the bottom of it before adding a matching yellow ribbon. Then this was adhered to turquoise card stock to create the card front. I stamped the upper portion of the Spring Is Creeping Verse (759H) in the lower right corner before adding the card front to a turquoise card stock base.

It's the perfect time of year for the "Leaf It To Me" challenge on the DRS Designs blog this week! It's time to show off all different kinds of leaves, and, best thing about the card I made was that I was able to use a leftover embossed piece from a previous project! Woo hoo, half the work was already done!
The Fall Leaf and Acorn (471F) panel was embossed with copper embossing powder on ivory card stock and then colored with Copic markers. This panel was matted on orange vellum that was cut to size and then embellished with a decorative border punch.
I used copper card stock for my card front and embossed it with a leaf embossing folder. The One Line Beauty of Autumn (704D) Greeting was stamped with brown ink on vellum, decorated with a border punch, and adhered to the bottom of my card front. I embellished it with a spiral clip and brown ribbon. Three brown square Brad's were placed in the upper right corner for the final touch. The card front was then adhered on to an A2 sized ivory cardstock base.

Today I'm sharing a few Christmas cards I made. I was bound and determined to use some of the many vellum sheets I have. I guess you could say I challenged myself to use it and here are the results:
These aren't your typical cards. The card base doesn't have a fold. Instead, lifting the vellum and the white cardstock (stamped with the Silent Night Sheet Music (506P) ) allows you ample space to write a personal message to the recipient on the colored cardstock located underneath. I used the same style for both of these Ornament cards, but changed up the colors a little bit. I can't decide which one I like better! Here's a close up of the red and gold one.
With a CAS design, these cards are great for mass producing. Other than cutting all the cardstock and vellum, basically this card was just a few basic steps. First, I heat embossed the Christmas Ornament Greeting (844K) on the vellum. Then, the Silent Night Sheet Music (506P) was stamped using red ink on the white cardstock layer. A brad was then added at the top of the ornament to make it look like it was hanging, and it's what holds all of the layers together. The final touch was to add a red ribbon tied in a bow to decorate the top of each card and then adhere all of the layers to a piece of cardstock that measures 4.25" x 5.5".
