Friendship

I've been enjoying new stamps from DRS Designs. This release is fabulous and today I'm showing off the new Fleur De Lis stamp (421F)!

I created this Clean and Simple Friendship card by pairing the Fleur De Lis stamp with the Friendship Double Divide Greeting (1065F).  As you can see, a Fleur De Lis image was stamped with yellow ink on either side of a white cardstock panel and the friendship greeting was stamped in black in the middle.  I like how the Fleur De Lis images are "doubled" and "divided" just as friendship is described in the greeting.  I used a border punch to decorate a black cardstock panel and attached it to the bottom of the stamped white cardstock panel.   Then, yellow and white twine was cris-crossed across the black panel and tied in a bow. I adhered this panel onto a yellow cardstock base and then added 3 black rhinestones to the top for a pop of color and a bit of bling. I love the clean and simple design and I hope you do too!

True Friends

 Hi Everyone!

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I'm still playing with my shamrock stamps and I can't seem to get enough! Maybe it's the promise of Spring that gets me so excited about working with these stamps. I'm giddy that our weather seems to have made a turn for the weather and I can only hope that it keeps warming up from now on.  Here's another card I made using one of my favorite stamps, DRS Designs new Four Leaf Clover Friends Greeting (284F). I love the assortment of greens on this card and I love when I can use stamped images as embellishments. Read on for my explanation...

I stamped the greeting on white cardstock and then used a banner die to cut it out. While it was in the die, I sponged green ink over the top of it to create the white border around it. Then it was matted with a dark green card stock banner. I colored the shamrocks from the Shamrock Swag (1080F) with Copic Markers and then fussy cut them out to embellish the top of the banner. For the backgrounds, I used stamps to create my own pattern papers. I started with the Lines O'Plenty Background (366H) on the white card stock and then distressed the edges was a little bit of green ink. It was then matted with light green card stock and next, the panel was adhered to the front of a dark green cardstock base. The next pattern paper I made was with the Shamrock Background (326H) which was stamped on a small panel of light green card stock. I added a white scalloped border to the bottom of it and then tied a green ribbon around the top before adhering it in place on the card front. I finished this card by adhering the banner in place on the right-hand side of the card front as shown.

Well, that's it for me today.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Enjoy your day!

True Friends!

DRS Designs new stamps and the new "Office Supplies" challenge on the DRS Designs Blog inspired me to create today's card. This card features the new Four Leaf Clover Friends Greeting (284F), which I love! Again, like yesterday's post, I've designed this card with a St. Patrick's Day theme but this sentiment isn't necessarily a St. Patrick's Day stamp! The Office Supplies challenge is exactly that--you are to use anything you would find in an office on your challenge entry. Items like staples, paperclips, postage stamps, etc all qualify. I chose to use a staple and a spiral paperclip.

Knowing that I wanted the Four Leaf Clover Friends Greeting to be the focal point of my card, I stamped it and then cut out with a decorative Nestability die to make it stand out. While it was in the die, I sponged over it with green ink and then outlined the die shape with a fine point black marker for definition.

Behind it, I stamped the Shamrock Vine Corner (1086G) on a small piece of green cardstock and rounded the corners. The corners were rounded on the black mat also. My card front was created using white cardstock, rounding the corners, embossing it, and then sponging green ink over the top.  I adhered the stamped elements in place as shown, using foam tape to adhere the greeting in place for added dimension.  The spiral clip was embellished with a small piece if ribbon tied around it before adding it to the top of the card front and 2 small ribbon loops were added to the bottom of the right hand side, and were adhered in place with a single green staple to match.  The card was then adhered to an A2 dark green cardstock base, which measures 4.25" x 5.5."

Well, that's it for me today. I hope I've inspired you to play along in the Office Supply Challenge, and I hope you'll go check out DRS Design's new Spring stamps, especially if you're looking to make St. Patrick's Day or Easter cards!

Good Friend Quilt

The colder temps are here and it's time to get out those quilts! And if you're anything thing like me you've also got out your space heaters and hoodie sweat shirts too! LOL! I can't stand the cold and even though I keep my house around 70*, I often use space heaters in the rooms I spend lots of time in, like my stamping room!

I made this with stamps from DRS Designs.  The colorful vertical panel was created using the Designer Quilt Square (166D) which was stamped repeatedly in a vertical line and colored with Copic Markers.  Then for added texture, it was embossed with an embossing folder.  I used the Good Friend Warm Quilt Greeting (169G) in the center of the card front.  It was sponged with light pink ink while still in the Nestability die to create the white frame around it.

I love the way this card turned out. I think the colors are cozy and I sure hope my friend enjoys it!

I hope you all stay warm too!

Friendship Skunk

DRS Designs released some new stamps a little while ago and in that release is their own version of PePe Le Pew.  It's the Skunk With Flowers (1035G) that I've used on today's Friendship card.

I've made this CAS card pairing him with the Big Thing Friendship Greeting (284H).  Kind of an oxymoron since you'd never consider a skunk to be your friend!

Enjoy and have a great day!

Nothing Without Friendship

Here's my entry for the button challenge that can be found on the DRS Designs Blog this week. I created it to show off the new Life is Friendship sentiment (794F). I thought it was perfect for the Snowman Bird Buddies (232H) image. Since it is a Winter theme, I had to use snowflakes for my background paper. I stamped the Interlocking Snowflake stamp (015H) in blue and purple inks. I added 2 blue buttons to the background panel and love the finished look! I often forget to use buttons for embellishments, but I'm definitely inspired by all of the sample cards seen on the Challenge post! This challenge was a wonderful reminder and I hope to include buttons more routinely in my card making.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post today. Hope you'll be back soon!

Yeah For New Stamps!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend and that you enjoyed the Super Bowl if you watched it.  Have you noticed that DRS Designs just revealed their next set of new stamps? I had to laugh when I saw Josephine the Bold (1037F). As rough and tough as she looks, I knew she'd be a perfect pair with the Unfriend You Greeting (751D) from the previous release. She is definitely not someone you want to mess with! LOL!

I colored her with Copic Markers and created my own background paper for this card.  I started with plain white cardstock and stamped it with Vicki's Versatile Background (369H) using dark blue ink.  I distressed the edges with the same ink as well.  The sentiment was very easy to stamp in 2 colors of ink since I received it as unmounted rubber. I simply cut the word 'unfriend' from the rest of the stamp and stamp them separately.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig came in handy here!

Make sure to stop by the New Release page over at DRS Designs and check out the rest of their new stamps. I'll show off more of them in the days to come.

Thanks for stopping by to check out Josephine!!

Smiles,
Jennifer
