Mother

I hope all you Moms out there had a wonderful and very Happy Mother's Day!!

Today I am sharing the Mother's Day card I made for my mom. Once again, my inspiration was fueled by the latest DRS Designs blog challenge--Beautiful Backgrounds. It's been a while, but I decided to get out my alcohol inks and glossy card stock to make the background for this card. My mom's favorite color is pink and I knew that that's what I needed to use on this card. So I selected a variety of pink and purple alcohol inks along with a metallic silver to create my beautiful background!

The focal greeting used is DRS Designs new Mermillod Mother's Greeting (402F). I also used the Happy Mother's Day line from the Mother's Day Saying (783G)

Hope all of you had a wonderful day spent with those you love!
Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Rose

DRS Designs is featuring the fun Argyle Background stamp (438P) this month and today's Mother's Day card shows you how it works!

I first stamped the Argyle Background with black ink.  Then I used the Argyle Diamond (441A) to add color to it.  To do this, I first stamped the dark black diamonds using a dark pink ink and then I used a lighter pink ink to stamp the dotted diamonds on either side of the dark one. It's so easy, but I can understand if you need more examples.  Just click THIS LINK to view other posts on the DRS Designs Blog that feature the Argyle Background.

Here are few more details on the card seen above:
The focal point is the Single Rose (774G).  I colored it with Copic Markers and then sponged pink ink around it while it was in a Nestability die.  (That's how I got the white frame around it.) I used the Mother's Day Greeting (783G) for the sentiment but split it up and put "Happy Mother's Day" on the banner below the image. A little layering and a border punch helped complete this layout. Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5"

Hope you enjoyed seeing it!
Have a great day!

On Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I created this Mother's Day Gift Card Holder a few weeks ago during my girls weekend, but didn't want to show it until I gave it to my Mom.  Way back in the day I posted the tutorial for these gift card holders and you can find it HERE.  All of the stamps seen on this project are by DRS Designs

I used the Flower and Butterfly Address Frame (002K) to decorate the front.  Nice thing about this stamp is how versatile it is.  You can use it as I've done here or use it as a true address frame for a return address or even to decorate an envelope with the recipient's address.

I colored it with Copic Markers and then cut it out including the center.  I stamped the "On Mother's Day Greeting (035D)" on light purple cardstock and then used foam tape to adhere the address frame over top so that the wording was centered in the frame. The added dimension really makes the frame stand out.

This is how it looks when opened.  I stamped it with the Script Gift Card Greeting (013D) and then hand wrote my personal message below it.  I hope Mom enjoys the Amazon Gift Card I bought her! :-)

Mother's Day Dogwood

DRS Designs just released new stamps this past Saturday.  This release contains many sentiments and word designs that would be great for making Mother's and Father's Day cards as well as birthday and graduation cards. You can see them all HERE.

With May right around the corner and 3 Mom's to create cards for, I had to get started on my Mother's Day cards ASAP! This card uses the On Mother's Day Greeting (035D) from the new release.  I stamped the pink cardstock with the Polka Dot background (688P) using Versamark ink and the Dogwood Branch (1092H) was colored with Copic Markers.  Both of these stamps are also by DRS Designs. I kept my layout simple, but I think the colors really make this card POP!

Have a great day!

Better Late Than Never!

"Because I said so, that's why!"  Did your Mom ever say this to you as kid?  My Mom said it all the time and I hated it! When I saw this new sentiment from DRS Designs I just had to laugh, it made me think of my Mom right away!  This was the Mother's Day card I made for my her.  I thought it was funny to "give her a taste of her own medicine," and let my card say it right back to her!

The  focal image I used on this card is "Spring Time Helper" (L634) from the Cutie Pie Kids Collection.  I colored it with Copic Markers, then used the masking technique to shade blue ink for the sky and green ink for the grass.  Then I used the Easy Grass Background (E059) and dark green ink to add the grass blades to my image.

I used red and yellow Stickles to the flowers to add a bit of sparkle to my card.
Have a great day!

Smiles,
Jennifer
