Valentine's Day is right around the corner and you can never send out too many! Here's another of my recently made cards. All of the stamps on this fun card are by DRS Designs. 
I created the background by stamping the Filagree Heart (599E), alternating it upside down and right-side up, with black ink on smooth pink cardstock on the upper half of the card front. I used a red Copic Marker to color in parts of the heart design. Under the Filagree Heart design, I added a score line and then stamped the I Love You greeting (608B) on the right side directly underneath it. Then I stamped the Small Happy Valentine's Day greeting (603C) below it, closer to the bottom, and added white grosgrain ribbon tied with a small red satin ribbon between the two sentiments.
The layout I used for this card follows SC313 from about a month ago. What's unique about this design is that the big Girl Swirl Heart (597G) is attached to the vertical white panel. It's a form of the Out-of-the-box technique. I used a decorative heart border punch on the left side of the vertical panel and placed a small strip of red cardstock behind it to make the tiny hearts more visible. I laced the small satin red ribbon thru the heart punch, at the top and bottom of the white panel, to add some color to it.

The bitter cold temperatures kept me warm and cozy inside my stamp room this weekend and I was inspired to make this card.

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a great weekend planned! I, unfortunately have to work both Saturday and Sunday this weekend (Monday too) but I'm looking forward to having Tuesday and Wednesday off. Oh, the joys of working in a hospital! :-)
However, I'm glad to report that I was able to get together with my stamping friends last Saturday. From about 4pm-1am we chatted, ate, and stamped the night away. It was so much fun! I wish we all could get together more often for days/nights like that!
Here is one of the cards I made during our stamping get together. All stamps by DRS Designs. I think I'm obsessed with the Halloween Moonlight Cat Serenade (605L) paired with the Love You To The Moon Greeting (580D). Did you see the other Valentine's Day card on the DRS Designs Blog that I made using it? 
This card, however, was decorated using the Girl Swirl (585G) in red and black ink to decorate the background, and I only used the middle cat with the moon from the Moonlight Cat Serenade stamp, rather than all 3. To make it more Valentine like, I embellished the area around the sentiment and image with baby pearls. I hope you like it! :-)

I used stamps from DRS Designs to create this card for the challenge. I stamped the Heart Drops (344K) with black ink and colored them red with a Copic Marker. I matted the image on a piece of black cardstock that was punched with a heart border. To make the tiny hearts stand out a bit more, I put a strip of white cardstock behind them.
Next, I used Diamond Glaze on the hearts to give them a bit of shine, as suggested by my good friend, Thanks Kimmy! I used a metal book plate to frame the "I Love You" greeting (608B) to fit the challenge. The bottom of the card base was embossed with the Cuttlebug hearts embossing folder.

Well, I'm not sure about you but I'm about done with the cold Winter temperatures and all of the snow. I say, bring on the warmth and sunshine!
Ok, back to reality...I know we have at least 3-4 more months of this cold icky stuff before there's any improvement in the weather. Perhaps I can offer some warmth with the card I made to share with you today.

We've got snow coming our way today so today is a good day to show off DRS Designs new Snowman in a Box stamp (581C). This little guy is so cute that I added 3 of them to my card front. Each was colored with Copic Markers. I used a pretty basic layout for this card, but wanted to dress it up with some fun colors. Tturquoise and violet were selected with a snowflake embossed background and some sparkly silver ribbon. The Warm Wishes Greeting (611D) is also new by DRS Designs and was stamped in Taken with Teal ink.

Happy New Year!
Well, so much for me starting the New Year with more stamping. I guess one thing that doesn't change from year to year is how quickly time can pass right by you! I'm glad to say that I am really feeling much better now than I have been over the last 7 weeks--I mean it this time! Just when I was feeling better about a month ago, my all-day-morning sickness came back to prove me wrong. Unfortunately, with that icky feeling I completely lost the creative side of my mind, my desire to stamp was gone. But, now that I'm feeling better, I've been stamping more and having a lot of fun with DRS Designs New Winter and Valentine stamps that were recently released. Have you checked them out yet?
DRS Designs is sponsoring this weeks Top Tip Tuesday Blog challenge to create an altered tin. One lucky winner will win a $10 DRS Designs Store Voucher just for playing along! One if the projects I've been working on this week is altering a hot cocoa tin using DRS stamps for this challenge. Cold temperatures, shoveling snow, and hot cocoa go hand-in-hand, so I thought it was best to create a Winter scene on my hot cocoa tin.
I first measured and cut a piece of white cardstock to fit around my tin. Then I created a template for rolling hills from scrap paper and sponged the upper edge along the bottom side of the cardstock. I stamped the newly released Skating Penguin (569D) at the lowest point, since he's skating on ice in a pond.
I stamped some friends for the Skating Penguin by stamping Percy Penguin (122D) a few times along the hills. In the empty space near the top of the cardstock I stamped the "Let It Snow Penguins" (571K),
another new design. All of the images were colored in with Copic Markers. The final step in creating the winter scene was to mask all of the images and then stamp falling snow all over it. I used DRS Designs Snow Background (187H).
The top was decorated with cardstock cut from a scalloped and plain Nestie circle. I stamped the Treat For You Greeting (1063C) and the Snow Background around it. Would you believe this greeting is actually part of the Halloween collection? A few snowflakes stamped around it and it easily became perfect for this Snowy Winter treat!

Hi Friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday shared with all of your family and friends! Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday is over, I started brainstorming on creating a New Year's card. If you're like me then you make cards for every holiday, and it is the next holiday, you know!?!?
To me New Years means lots of elegance with glitz and glamor so I knew I wanted to create this card with black and silver and a bit of sparkle. I used DRS Designs Shooting Star (509H) as my focal image and stamped it on gray cardstock. I then stamped the shooting star again on aluminum foil and cut the star portion of the image out and adhered it to the original stamped image. I used a black marker to color in the border around the star. Some silver Stickles around the outside eadge of the foil star really made this star sparkle and shine!
Unfortunately, my brainstorming idea got a little out of hand when I realized I didn't have a "Happy New Year" sentiment to add to the front of my card. I quickly improvised and used a portion of DRS Designs Blessed Christmas Greeting (525G) and in seconds I had a New Year's sentiment right in front of me! As you can see I split it up in to 2 parts and stamped it above and below the Shooting star as shown. Don't be afraid to come up with new uses for your stamps just like I did!

Well, the big day is finally here!
Merry Christmas to you all!
Now that I am certain all of my Christmas cards have been sent, and hopefully delivered, I wanted to share the handmade Christmas card I made this year with you.
The technique I used to make this Winter scene is the same technique I used back in November to make this Autumn card. Some red and silver ink turned this card from Autumn to Christmas very easily! Here's a picture of 5 of them, but I made a total of 20 for all my stamping friends!
I stamped DRS Designs Single Fall Tree (468F) along the rolling hills in the scene and added silver Stickles to the branches to look like ice and snow. The sentiment I had specifically made for this card, but the Season's Greetings sentiment on the Line of Winter Trees Image (537K) would be perfect as well.
Since I was mailing so many of these cards, I didn't want them to be heavily embellished. I think the simple red bow embellished them nicely! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I greatly appreciate your visit, especialy since I know my posts have been very scattered lately. I'm going to take some time away from stamping/crafting to spend time with family over the next week. Merry Christmas Eve!
I hope all of your holiday preparations are finally done and that you'll be spending time with Family and Friends very soon! Today I'm sharing a religious Christmas card I made using new Christmas stamps from DRS Designs. It is important to remember the true reason for the season and celebrate the birth of Jesus, especially on Christmas Eve!
I colored the Holy Family Manger Scene (513M) with Copic markers and used a rectangle Nestability to cut it out. I split up the Simplify Christmas Greeting (553D) and stamped the top portion of the sentiment in the blank space in the upper left corner of the image. The lower portion was stamped in the empty space in the lower right corner of the image.
I kept things simple with this card to go along with the 'simple' theme in the sentiment. I only embellished this card with a yellow satin ribbon and some yellow rhinestones. A bit of yellow stickles dressed up the star.

So, is your holiday shopping going well? Almost done? I've started...I'm no where near finished and this card explains my thoughts exactly! Every shopping trip feels like I'm dashing through the dough! LOL! Can you relate?
Today is my day to post on the DRS Designs Blog, so you'll have to go there to see my card and find exactly who is "Dashing though the Dough!"
Finally, after all these weeks, I'm getting back into a groove...decorating for the holidays, playing with DRS Designs new holiday stamps and enjoying Christmas music on the radio! With all the stamping I've done over the last few days, I'm glad to say that have a new card to share with you today too! Since I'm just getting back to stamping, I decided to start with a few Clean and Simple cards. I'm still taking each day with a grain of salt, praying that the All Day Morning Sickness is gone for good, but understanding that it can show its weary head at any moment. I didn't want to get too involved with one project that would take me days and days to finish if I should get sick again. So, for starters with this card, I used Copic Markers to color the Candy Cane image (552H). The Candy Cane Greeting (549H) is all one, but I split it up into 3 parts to fit the layout of this card. The white parts of the greeting were heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the middle of the greeting, the "Candy Cane" part with SU! Real Red ink and created a tag with it. This was all done on a green cardstock front and adhered to a red cardstock base.

I know it has been quite a while since I've posted regularly on my blog and for those of you who are still following, I thank you! You've probably noted that many of my most recent posts indicated that I wasn't feeling well and therefore I was unable to stamp and blog. Finally, I am on the mend and ready to explain!
Hubby and I are expecting our first child on July 4th, 2011! I have been ill with Morning Sickness which has completely defeated my creative side for about 4 weeks. In my case, this condition is more appropriately called All-Day Sickness! It truely has been difficult trying to keep myself afloat to just get thru a work day. All extra curricular activities were cancelled and even the holiday decorating was minimally completed. However, this past Saturday I woke up feeling like a million bucks and more or less I've been feeling pretty good ever since. I even stamped out 2 Christmas cards on Sunday and will be sharing those with you very soon! I'm glad to say that I think I'm back in Business!
Taken yesterday at 10 weeks along (30 to go!) and measuring a teeny, tiny 1.5" in length, here's the lastest picture of our little firecracker!

Has the hustle and bustle of the holidays started yet for you? We've been racing around trying to get the Thanksgiving decorations down and the Christmas decorations up. It won't be long before I'm heading out to shop for what on my gift giving list this year!
