Another Year



There's nothing better than having universal greeting cards in your stash that could be used for multiple occasions.  Like this card I'm sharing with you today, it could be used as a birthday card for someone who likes birds, or an anniversary card because of the way the birds look on the Lovebirds Branch (413H). It would all come down to what the rest of the greeting inside read, and for now I'm going to leave that option open until I actually decide to use this card.







 

The scene I created here was started with a piece of white cardstock.  I stamped the Lovebirds Branch 3 times in different places and at different positions coming from the right side of my card front.  Next, I stamped the Single Bird House (406D) near the bottom, masked it and then stamped the Picket Fence (478P) in place over top.  Everything here was colored with Copic Markers, including the sky and the grass.  I hand cut a piece of brown cardstock and embossed it with a wood grain embossing folder for a realistic look, and adhered it in place on the far right side. The final touch was adding the Another Year Flies By (489F) Greeting right in the center.  The card front was then added to a yellow cardstock base to make the card complete.

Eat, Drink, and be Married!

Once the seasons change over to nicer weather, wedding season begins as well. Right now my calendar is already filling up with wedding showers and this Summer I have 2 weddings and a wedding anniversary party to attend. I'm using DRS Designs new wedding stamps to make my cards ahead of time.  Here's one of them:

I chose to do this in red, black and white to follow the brides color scheme. I started by cutting out a banner from white cardstock and stamped the Silhouette Bride and Groom (026G) in the center. I used Versamark ink to stamp the Love Is Patient Greeting (201H) repeatedly over top of it. Then I matted it with black cardstock and colored the bride's flowers red. Two red brads were added to the left side for a bit more color.

Next, the A2 card base was cut from red cardstock. I stamped Eat, Drink, and be Married Greeting (024F) in the lower right side as shown. The banner was adhered above it, to the left and a small silver bow and silver heart embellishments made it complete.

Two Loving Hearts

You know the song, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage!" Well, that last event is exactly why I haven't posted since January 1st.

Alexander John, our second son, was born on January 3rd, weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces and 20 inches long. Big brother Anthony is proud yet very curious and is adjusting fairly well.  Despite this latest change in our home, I'm eager to get back into a routine and get back to some me time. Luckily, I was able to get some alone time earlier this week and create a wedding card for the Love and Marriage challenge over at DRS Designs.

I used the Silhouette Love Heart (213D) for my focal image, stamping it twice so that the images overlap and I carefully cut them out.  I did this for the symbolism that two become one in marriage.  I adhered them with foam tape for some dimension on red carstock that was die cut with a Nestability Label die.  I created a horizontal panel to show off the sentiment using "Congratulations" from the Ribbon and Curls New Baby Greeting (111G).  Three small, white pearls and some twine tied in a bow embellished this panel nicely.  The card front was made with plain white cardstock that I decorated up a bit with a border punch and I added a pink layer that was embossed with a hearts embossing folder.  Finished cart size is 5.5" x 4.25."

Happy Anniversary

Oh my how time is just flying by! I can't believe another Thursday is upon us already! However, after a stressful week, I'm also grateful since I have this weekend off and I'm really looking forward to it!

So since it's Thursday that means I have another challenge card to share with you. This week's challenge on the DRS Designs Blog is called "So Charming." You must use a charm on your card this week and this Anniversary card is my challenge entry.

The Changing Love Greeting (574H) was stamped in Real Red on white cardstock. I used a decorative border punch to decorate the top and bottom edges of it. Lots and lots of pearls were added to the top. I added red ribbon tied in a knot and threaded red and white twine through the knot to hold my charm at the bottom. The pink layer I used for the card front was embossed with hearts except for the lower half inch. I used my Score-Pal to add a line to separate the hearts from the bottom of the card and stamped "Happy Anniversary" in the empty space to the right. A red rhinestone was placed on either side of it.  The card front was attached to a red A2 cardstock base.

First Anniversary

Are you enjoying the new stamps from DRS Designs? They were just released yesterday and I'm showing off a few of them on today's anniversary card. 

 The First Anniversary Greeting (079E) and the Script Font (098P) that was stamped on the black panel are the new releases. I've also created my own pattern paper using the Interlocking Heart Background (808H) which you can find in the current DRS catalog. Happy Anniversary!

 For today's project I created an Anniversary card that shows off the First Love (M640) Cutie Pie Kids image and it uses a portion of the Changing Love (H574) sentiment.  For this particular card, I thought the entire sentiment was too serious to go with the Cutie Pies kissing image, so I just used the last line of it. 

The Cutie Pie image was colored with Copic Markers.  They are some of my favorite images from DRS Designs.  You can see the rest of the Cutie Pie Collection by Clicking HERE.

Anniversary Love!

I'm still playing around with my new stamps from DRS Designs.  The stamps on today's card are not from their latest release, but these are 'new to me' stamps.  I used them to create an Anniversary card, but by simply omitting the "Happy Anniversary" line in the Changing Love  sentiment and replacing it with  F357 "Happy Valentines Day," you would have a Valentine all set and ready to go!  Isn't this a beautiful greeting?

Hugs and Kisses

Happy Monday to you! Are you enjoying all of the new images available by DRS Designs?  In case you haven't seen them yet, you can click HERE to view them all.  

I used DRS Designs new OX XO (G188)  Hugs and Kisses image as the focal point on todays card.   I created an anniversary card with it, but it could also be used more appropriately if you'll be making Valentine's Day cards for this time of year.  I stamped it on red cardstock, carefully cut it out and adhered it to the matted white cardstock with foam tape for some added dimension. This anniversary card also uses a portion of the Changing Love (H574) sentiment (gotta love unmounted rubber that makes this so easy!) and the background was stamped with the Interlocking Heart Background stamp (H808).

Well, just a quick post today--Today is my day off and I'm working hard to finish cleaning up all of my holiday decorations. Yes, we've had them up until now(!) and I can't let the computer distract me today!

Happy Anniversary!

Finally, Here's my Fun Filled Friday card! I challenged Kimmy to create Anniversary cards for this week's theme.

I've made wedding cards before, but I've never made an Anniversary card. When I actually sat down to make it, I realized I don't have any images that are truly wedding or anniversary related, other than this "Happy" set from Clearly Wordsworth. It comes with a bunch of words to go with the "Happy," like Birthday, New Home, New Year, Everything, Thanksgiving, Halloween, New Job, Graduation, Day etc. Luckily for this challenge, Anniversary was one of them as well!

I colored "Happy" with a pink Prismacolor Pencil and blended the color with Gamsol. Then I stamped Anniversary in the little space under the H and A where it fits perfectly. I inked the edges and matted it in pink and gray cardstock.


Both, the Silhouette Love Heart from DRS Designs and the word Happy are painted with Shimmerz!
