Anthony is 3 months old already!
He is a very happy baby and hardly ever complains. At 3 months old he smiles constantly, laughs and giggles, makes small motions of hand/eye contact by reaching out and grabbing objects, has gained six pounds and 5 inches since birth. He's growing like a weed and we're loving every minute!

Happy Monday Friends!
Today marks the start of another preview week. DRS Designs is releasing new Holiday and Christmas stamps this Saturday, October 15th. One of the new stamps included in this release is the Cardinal on Branch (856M) that you see on today's card.
I colored the Cardinal with Copic Markers. The edges of the white and craft cardstock were inked with Vintage Photo Distressing ink. I stamped DRS Designs One Line Merry Christmas (364B) in the bottom right area and added 4 red brads to the left of it. Some nice red grosgrain ribbon pulled everything together nicely.
I really like how this card ended up. I think the colors look really nice together and the distressing makes it look like a vintage Christmas card. Nice and elegant, wouldn't you say? Hope you enjoyed it!

Can you believe it's October already!?!?! DRS Designs released their new Halloween stamps not too long ago. You can see them all HERE. Included in this release is the Halloween Spirits and Boo-ze Greeting (894G) and the Small Bat in Moon image (898C) that I have used on today's Halloween card.
To make this card I started by using Nesties to cut out the greeting. While it was still in the Nestie die, I inked it to create the white frame around it. I did the same technique with the Small Ghost (C191). The background was made using a digi of the Bat and Moon image, by copying and pasting the image one after another. All of the images were colored with Copic Markers.
I simply embellished this card by inking the background edges with black ink, and by using a few black brads and some twine to embellish the center panel. Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5".

Hello, Hello, Hello! Happy Monday to you all! Hope you all had a great weekend!
So, how's the weather where you're at? Here in Michigan, there's no doubt that Fall has arrived. The card I have to inspire you today shows off a few of the new Fall stamps from DRS Designs that are now available for purchase. Check out the entire release HERE.
I created the background on a whim by stamping the Fall Leaf with Acorn (471F) stamp repeatedly on ivory cardstock using Versamark ink. I think this stamp was originally created to be a focal image, but I've experimented using it as a background image and I really like how it turned out. I heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo ink. I think the copper embossing and the distressed look make the background look really elegant. I really gives it an Autumn feel. The main image I used is the new Squirrel with Acorn stamp (934H). I colored it with Copic Markers and distressed the edges of this as well. Then I stamped "Count Your Blessings" Greeting (915D), also a new release, on the panel I added behind the image. I just love this card, and hope you do too! Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5".

Happy Fall Ya'll!
Here's another card I made a while ago for publishing, but it wasn't selected. (Enter sad face here, LOL!) I had a lot of fun making it--rarely do I make cards so simple, and I love how this Fall card was made in non-traditional colors. I wanted to give the Lady Scarecrow (418L) (also by DRS Designs) a girly feel so I colored her clothing pink. I dressed up the sunflower on her hat by adding a touch of yellow Stickles to it.
For embellishments, I used a decorative border punch, lots of mini brads and some fun ribbon to the middle panel. On the card front I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. I guess for me you could call this card Clean and Simple!

After 12 (fabulous!) weeks off of work on Maternity leave I will soon be back in the grind of working life. I'm trying to make the most of this week cause next Monday is my first day back to work. This has me stressed out a bit and unfortunately, I think it's putting a damper on my mojo. I have 3 cards in progress and I'm not liking the way any of them are turning out. Seems as though my creative side doesn't like the idea about going back to work either.
While Anthony was napping yesterday, I did a little blog hopping looking for some inspiration and stress relief.
I came upon this weeks Tuesday Morning sketch Challenge and completely forgot that DRS Designs was this week's sponsor! (Told you I was feeling stressed!) It was just the inspiration I needed. Since my Give Thanks card was so well liked, (thanks to all of you who commented on it!) I decided to use this week's TMS sketch and do a bit more embossing on today's challenge card.
I embossed DRS Designs new Give Thanks For Family Greeting (911F) with copper embossing powder for the center of my card. I matted it as seen on the sketch, and added acorn punchies to each of the corners of the frame. The background was stamped with the Silhouette Branch Background (363H) and was also embossed. I added brown ribbon between the the 2 layers across the card front.
As a final step I added leaf punchies to add some Fall color.

Back in April when I went on the stamping weekend with the girls from the Stamp Shack, we all decided to create ATC's with a Wizard of Oz theme. I signed up for the "house falling" theme because I had the perfect stamp from DRS Designs for it.
I used a small portion of the Death of a Witch (L1045) stamp. I colored it with Copic Markers and added Xmas Red Stickles to the "Ruby Slippers." I created the text "Ding, Dong, The Witch is Dead!" on my computer.
I can't wait to see what everyone else does for the other themes!

DRS Designs has just released a bunch of stamps for Autumn and I'm in love! Perhaps I'm a bit partial because Fall is my favorite season, but these are some really great stamps! My favorite from this release is the Harvest Bouquet (929L) that I've used as the focal point on today's card.
I really like the color combination that I've used on the bouquet. I really didn't plan anything out ahead of time, but I think these Copic Marker colors scream Fall. I think this is a fun layout too. I was inspired to use this layout by this weeks
Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge SC350. I added one of DRS Designs new sentiments, the
Count Your Blessings greeting (915D) to the card front as well. It helped to fill in the empty space at the bottom. To add texture to the back ground, I stamped the
Lines O' Plenty stamp (366H) by DRS Designs in turquoise ink to the blue panels. I embellished this card using some simple brown brads and light blue grosgrain ribbon threaded through a couple brown eyelets. Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5".

The background was created by heat embossing DRS Designs Fall Leaf With Acorn image (471F) with copper embossing powder. I also used this image as the focal point on my card front and colored it with Copic Markers. For the middle layer I dry embossed metallic copper cardstock with the Swiss Dots embossing folder to create texture on my card front. The sentiment I used, the Thanks Unto The Lord Greeting (916D), is new by DRS Designs. I hope by sharing with you my heat embossed cards that I've inspired you to get out your embossing powders and heat gun too. It won't be long before the leaves start to change and the weather gets colder and colder. Ick! I love the Fall but the thought of snow coming soon after that just disgusts me! The card I'm showing off today I made awhile ago and I submitted it for publishing. Unfortunately, it was never accepted, but I'm glad I finally get to share it with you. I love the way it turned out!
The Single Fall Tree (468F) and the Shine on Harvest Moon Greeting (470D) are by DRS Designs. I first stamped the tree image and then cut it out using a Nestie Oval die. Next, I created a stencil, using the smallest Nestie circle die for the sun. I then masked the sun and put it back into the oval die and sponged blue ink around the upper portion of it to create the sky. I used a piece of scrap paper with a wavy edge to create the ground, by inking brown ink along it's edge. As a final step I "dressed up" the Fall tree by using several Fall colored Copic Markers to add dots to the tree and ground for leaves.
As you can see I kept the embellishments on this card rather simple as I didn't want to take away from the focal image. Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5". I hope I've inspired you to "dress up" one of your stamps and use it in a way other then it's intended use!

Happy Labor Day to all of my American friends!
Can you believe the Summer is almost over already!?!?! With Fall upon us I have a Halloween sneak peek to share with you. DRS Designs will be releasing their new Halloween stamps very soon. Included in this release will be the Candy Corn Wreath ( 927L) that I have used on today's card.
I colored the wreath with Copic Markers and then applied Black Stickles to each of the stars. The background panel was made using the Polka Dot Background (688P). It was stamped in yellow, orange, and black ink to match the colors of the wreath. The edges of each panel were inked with black to give a distressed look.
To fill in the empty space in the center of the wreath, I stamped the Small Halloween Greeting (042A). I simply embellished this card using a few black brads and some grosgrain ribbon to the center panel. Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5".

If you're a regular follower of my blog than you've probably read my post from last week explaining my latest love of the Butterfly Ribbon Slides from DRS Designs. Here's another take using them.
For this Birthday card, I stamped the Polka Dot Background (688P) to create my own patterned paper. I stamped the butterfly twice and colored it with Copic Markers and then cut each one out. I layered one on top of the other and attached them together using 3 black brads. I love how the brads make it look like the butterfly's body. Then I just bent up the wings of the top butterfly to give it a 3D look. The Another Year Flies By sentiment (489F) is perfect for a card like this with these layered butterflies, I couldn't help but use it again!

A few weekends ago I went to the Stamping and Paper Arts Festival in Novi, Michigan put on by Heirloom Productions. I met up with Sue from DRS Designs and helped with the Make n' Take project, which was a lot of fun. I also walked around gathering ideas and doing lots of shopping myself! One of the projects I was inspired by was stamping on vellum, coloring the image with water color pencils and blending the colors with a Dove Blender Pen. Last year at the show I bought a package of vellum that I had yet to use, until now! It was a nice change to use something other than my Copic Markers. Here's my card using this technique.
I created this Get Well card using stamps from DRS Designs. I first stamped the Daffodil Frame image (104P) with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using Black Sparkle Embossing powder. Next I used Watercolor EcoPencils by Faber-Castell to color in the image and then used my new Dove Blender pen to blend the colors. I adhered the image to white cardstock, cut it out, and matted it as shown.

I used DRS Designs Treasured Sister Greeting (1142F) as the focal point on the card front. I accented it with a heart brad to match the rest of the heart theme that I used on the card front.
The background was created by stamping the Interlocking Heart Background (808H) also in Real Red and then I colored in some of the hearts with a Copic Marker. The panel behind the sentiment was dry embossed with a heart embossing folder and I layered some fabric and paper flowers according to the sketch. Finished card size is 5.5" x 4.25."

Today I'm sharing with you a comical Birthday card. The Hogwash stamps I used on this card are some of my favorites by DRS Designs.
I stamped the Leonard Pig's Bathtime Buddies (719K) in Rich Cocoa Momento ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The Hogwash Sentiment (722E) is actually all one stamp. It has 3 lines that I've split up to fit my layout. This technique is one I do all the time and love it! That's the beauty of using unmounted rubber stamps! I feel this makes them more versatile and I get more use out of them. As you can see I've also used "Hogwash" to create my own background paper. Hope you like the way this card turned out, I sure do!

Back in June when I created this Butterfly Birthday card for DRS Designs Give Away, I went on a butterfly frenzy and colored up a whole bunch of Butterfly Ribbon Slides (681D). In the midst of transforming my stamping room to the baby's nursery, I misplaced the envelope with all the butterflies in it and guess what I found just the other day?!?!? So, needless to say, I've drawn up a bunch of card sketches so that I can use them up. I hope you like these butterflies as much as I do, cause I'm going to be showing them off a lot in the next few weeks! I wouldn't want you to get bored seeing them though, so don't worry, they are all different colors! ;-)
I put the yellow one to use using this weeks Splitcoast Sketch challenge #346.
As the final step I cut out 2 of the yellow Butterfly Ribbon Slides and attached them with 3 black brads and then adhered it to the card front as shown. I love the 3D effect that makes the butterfly look as if it's flying!

Hi Everyone!
I'm changing things up a bit! I'm sticking with the Summer theme that you've seen here a lot lately, but I have a birthday card to share with you today.
I have used DRS Designs famous Ladybug Stackup (695G) as the focal point on my card front. I colored it with Copic Markers and after shading the bottom with a green marker, I stamped the Easy Grass Background (059E) to create the grass blades in the scene. I paired the ladybug image with the Ladybug Birthday Greeting (576G),
but I split it up--I stamped majority of it in red right next to the stamped image and stamped the bottom separately in black in the lower right corner of the card front as seen. A small black rhinestone on either side of "Happy Birthday" accented it nicely!
Just look at those cute little bugs...aren't they adorable?
I hope I've inspired you to create a Summer Birthday card or two!

If your Summer's are like ours then your grill is out all the time and we grill it up daily it seems! How about making a Birthday card for your Grill Master? I created this one with stamps from DRS Designs.
Although it's hard to see, I also used a Glaze pen on his eyes to give them a realistic look. Ribbon and brads finished off this 4.25" x 6" card--had to make it a bit bigger than an A2 size to fit the width of the image and the sentiment together.

It was colored with Copic Markers and I paired it with the Best Wishes Retirement Greeting (942D). I didn't get too fancy with my embellishments on this card--need to keep things quick these days as my newborn baby is demanding a lot of attention! *wink* I used a decorative border punch, a ribbon scrap attached with a standard staple, and some clear rhinestones gems that I colored with my Copic Markers to match. Woo hoo! I was able to play with another Splitcoast Sketch Challenge! Here's my take on last week's SC343.
This could possibly be a birthday card for a boy by adding a happy birthday sentiment like the Birthday Boy Greeting (590E) on the inside. I used the Four Corner Sports stamp (734G) from DRS Designs to create the background design. I colored each of the sports icons with Copic Markers and cut them up into strips to fit the sketch. The sentiment, also from DRS Designs is the All About Fun Greeting (1042E). I cut it out with a scalloped circle Nestability die and sponged it with orange ink before I took it out of the die. The finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5" and I finished it off with some chocolate brown ribbon and brown brads.

I used this sketch to create this Get Well card. All stamps are by DRS Designs.
The Oval Frame is a sneak peek of an upcoming release. Best part about this oval is that it can be cut out with an oval Nestibility perfectly! I used the last line of the Blooming With Good Health Greeting (055G) as the sentiment inside the Oval Frame.
The polka dot panel was also stamped using the Polka Dot Background stamp (688P). I don't doodle on my cards very often, but I thought this card called for it. I used a Gelly Roll pen to draw white dots in the scalloped portion of the scalloped oval and then I drew lines and dots around the outer edge of the green panel.
