Harvest Moon

It won't be long before the leaves start to change and the weather gets colder and colder.  Ick! I love the Fall but the thought of snow coming soon after that just disgusts me!  The card I'm showing off today I made awhile ago and I submitted it for publishing. Unfortunately, it was never accepted, but I'm glad I finally get to share it with you.  I love the way it turned out!
The Single Fall Tree (468F) and the Shine on Harvest Moon Greeting (470D) are by DRS Designs.  I first stamped the tree image and then cut it out using a Nestie Oval die.  Next, I created a stencil, using the smallest Nestie circle die for the sun.  I then masked the sun and put it back into the oval die and sponged blue ink around the upper portion of it to create the sky.  I used a piece of scrap paper with a wavy edge to create the ground, by inking brown ink along it's edge.  As a final step I "dressed up" the Fall tree by using several Fall colored Copic Markers to add dots to the tree and ground for leaves.

As you can see I kept the embellishments on this card rather simple as I didn't want to take away from the focal image.  Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5".  I hope I've inspired you to "dress up" one of your stamps and use it in a way other then it's intended use!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll be back soon to see what I create next!

Smiles,
Jennifer
