Whooo's Special

Have you seen the adorable inspiration image for this weeks challenge on the Cupcakes Inspiration Blog
You can use this image however you'd like--you can pick theme, color, patterns etc. I just had to take the owl theme and run with it! Of course since DRS Designs is the sponsor of this challenge, all of the stamps I used are by DRS Designs. They include: Oswald the Owl (132H), the Someone Whooo's Special Greeting (142B), and Vicki's Versatile Background (369H)

I colored the owl with Copics, used a glaze pen on his eyes and adhered him and the greeting with foam tape for some added dimension. How does the photo above inspire you? Play along and enter your challenge card HERE for a chance to win a Store Voucher to DRS Designs.

Thanks for visiting!

"Toad"ally Un"frog"ettable!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all having a great week! Here's the card I made for the Masculine Card challenge on the DRS Designs Blog.

The combination of browns, blues and greens scream "boy" to me on this card!  Both the Frog On A Log image (252H) and the Un"frog"ettable Birthday Greeting (1077G) that I used are by DRS Designs.  This image was colored with Copic Markers and was a lot of fun to color.  The greeting was one line too big for the area where I wanted it to go, so separated the last line and  added it under the image.

Interested in playing along? You can find all of the challenge details and enter your masculine card HERE for a chance to shop for free with a DRS Designs Store voucher.

Thanks for stopping by!

First Anniversary

Are you enjoying the new stamps from DRS Designs? They were just released yesterday and I'm showing off a few of them on today's anniversary card.

The First Anniversary Greeting (079E) and the Script Font (098P) that was stamped on the black panel are the new releases. I've also created my own pattern paper using the Interlocking Heart Background (808H) which you can find in the current DRS catalog. Check out the DRS Blog to see the creative ways the DT has used the new stamps and to find the details or play along with this week's wedding/anniversary challenge.

Have a great day!

Women Are Angels

Woo hoo!
New stamps are now available from DRS Designs
You can check them all out on their new release page.   I'm happy to show off one of the new greetings on today's card.

I know it isn't Halloween yet, but I couldn't help create a Halloween looking card to go with this Women Are Angels Greeting (298G).

I think this is hilarious and it goes so well with the Witchly Accessories (154K) image.  I colored it with Copic Markers and kept the embellishments rather simple.  I think the ribbon sets off the greeting panel well and a few large purple brads fill in the empty spaces nicely.

Hope this made you smile today!!

Beat The Band Birthday Piano

Couldn't help but CASE this card from Chelsea (who saw it on Pintrest) for DRS Designs "Music For The Soul" Blog Challenge. It's perfect!

I added the upper portion of the soon-to-be-released "Beat The Band" Birthday Greeting (056G) on the front, and then added the rest of it, "It's Your Birthday," to the inside below the Birthday Sheet Music (763P).  I left just enough space to hand write a personal message.  Best part about this card is that it's quick and very easy to make too!

Have a great day!

On Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I created this Mother's Day Gift Card Holder a few weeks ago during my girls weekend, but didn't want to show it until I gave it to my Mom.  Way back in the day I posted the tutorial for these gift card holders and you can find it HERE.  All of the stamps seen on this project are by DRS Designs

I used the Flower and Butterfly Address Frame (002K) to decorate the front.  Nice thing about this stamp is how versatile it is.  You can use it as I've done here or use it as a true address frame for a return address or even to decorate an envelope with the recipient's address.

I colored it with Copic Markers and then cut it out including the center.  I stamped the "On Mother's Day Greeting (035D)" on light purple cardstock and then used foam tape to adhere the address frame over top so that the wording was centered in the frame. The added dimension really makes the frame stand out.

This is how it looks when opened.  I stamped it with the Script Gift Card Greeting (013D) and then hand wrote my personal message below it.  I hope Mom enjoys the Amazon Gift Card I bought her! :-)

Music For The Soul

Hi Everyone! Hope you're having a great day!
Today's post has a double meaning.  This card was created for this week's DRS Designs Blog challenge and it's a sneak peek for their new releases!

The theme for the challenge is "Music For The Soul."  Your card must contain something related to music, like music notes, sheet music, instruments etc.  It coordinates perfectly with the Marching Band Trumpet Image (056G) and Beat The Band Birthday Greeting (076E), both of which will be available for purchase very soon from DRS Designs.

I used the Birthday Sheet Music (763P) for the background and cut the band member out using anoval Nestabilities die.  I shaded around the image using blue ink while it was still in the Nestie die and colored it with Copic Markers.  I split up the sentiment to make it fit with my layout.

You can check out all of DRS Designs new releases HERE as soon as they become available.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my challenge card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Graduation Day

Happy Cinco de Mayo and Happy Graduation Day to my cousin!
She's graduating today from Michigan State University, which is also my Alma Mater. Of course it only seemed right to make her card with MSU's school colors, green and white.

The greeting I used in the center of the card front is DRS Designs new Culmination Graduation Greeting (1126K) . I used only the top portion of it for the front of the card and then used the stamp-off technique to stamp the Brush Mortarboard (287G) over top of the greeting. The background panel was stamped with the Easy Graduation Background stamp (984H) and I colored it with Copic Markers. When I assembled the panels, I wrapped green and white twine beneath the greeting and adhered this panel using foam tape to give it some dimension. A few brads set off the card front nicely and it was adhered to a black A2 cardstock base.

I put the bottom portion of the greeting inside of the card, along with the Graduation Tassel (007D) that was stamped in green.

This card was also created for the Graduation card challenge on DRS Designs Blog this week. You could win some free stamps for playing along. See the challenge details HERE.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
Thanks for poppin' in!

Sweet Baby Girl

After a fabulous girls weekend with my stamping friends, I'm glad to report that I made 14 cards while I was there! Some are for magazine submissions, but many of them you'll get to see here on my blog very soon. Today I have a card to share with you that I made for a stamping friend who we threw a surprise baby shower for this past weekend. I'm really happy with how it turned out and think it's one of my favorites!

I used this adorable Teddy Bear image from Holly Berry House and colored it with Copic Markers. Since she knows that she is having a girl, I chose to color the bow pink. I love the adorable Ribbon and Curls New Baby sentiment (111G) from DRS Designs and thought that it was perfect with the Teddy bear image. The finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5". I hope you enjoy seeing this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

 Have a great day!
 Smiles,
Jennifer
