Get Well Tag

Hello, Hello, Have you missed me?
I apologize that my blogging isn't as frequent as it used to be.  Motherhood has changed a lot for me and my free time just isn't what it used to be.  I stamp and blog when I can and hope that you all are still here with me when I do!

Today I'm showing off my latest creation for the "Use a Tag" Challenge on the DRS Designs Blog.

At first, I didn't really have a plan as to how I wanted to carry out this challenge. As I looked thru my box of colored images, this Spring Crocus (1066H) image caught my eye.  It was colored with Copic Markers and I masked it and sponged blue ink around it while it was in a Nestie die which helped to enhance the colors.  Then, after matting it and coming up with the layout, all I had to do was come up with a sentiment tag to pair with it.  I thought that the bright colors in this image gave it a cheery feel and thought it would make a great Get Well card. The tag was created using a portion of the "Cured Yet" Greeting (1015E).  I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words so they fit perfectly on my tag.

I have to admit, I don't know much about Crocus flowers and when I first received this image I thought they were Tulips, hence the way I've colored them.  So, if Crocus flowers don't come in red, I apologize to all of you who are familiar with them, especially to my Master Gardner friends (you know who you are,  *wink*)  Either way, I just love how this colored image turned out and hope you do to!

If any of you would like to win your choice of 3 stamps from DRS Designs, take a shot and play along with their "Use A Tag" challenge.  It's a great prize up for grabs! Good Luck to you if you do!

Well, that's it for me today.  More coming soon I hope...

Housework, Put Up Your Dukes!

Do you ever tackle your housework with your fists up like Josephine the Bold (1037F)? Or, do you just flat out tell your housework "I'm so not doing you!" like this new Dear Housework stamp (1039F)? I'm more of a daily pick-up kind of person and (Thank God!) my Husband is the one who gets down and dirty and tackles the housework like it should be done! Yes, I know I'm a very lucky girl!

These 2 stamps were released recently by DRS Designs along with several other Spring and Easter themed stamps. You can see them all HERE. I colored them with Copic Markers and the Dear Housework Greeting was adhered using foam tape for some added dimension.

Regardless of which one of us has to do the housework, I still wish I could snap my fingers like Mary Poppins, or wiggle my nose like on Bewitched to get it done! I'm sure you agree!

With Faith

I'm still playing with DRS Designs new stamps and I'm hope you're not sick of seeing them yet! I created this card for the DRS blog challenge this week to create your own backgrounds.

Making your own backgrounds is so easy with all of the background stamps DRS Designs offers and the best part is that they often pay for themselves with just a few uses. In the long run, I think they are much cheaper then buying designer papers. I love stamping them in a variety of colors to match the project I'm working on. The background on this card was made using Vicki's Versatile background stamp (369H), and the Impossible Faith Greeting (1025G) was used as the focal point on my card front. I accented it with the Cross In A Cross Image (1022B).  Each layer was distressed and the finished card size is A2- 4.25" x 5.5".

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

You Light Up My Life!

Thanks to everyone who has sent me Birthday wishes.  My birthday was Monday and it was a Fabulous day!  I received a Kindle Fire, which I am in love with! If any of you have one, let me know what books you've enjoyed reading and what apps you've added that you can't live without!

Well, as I mentioned in my last post DRS Designs has just released some new stamps this past Satursday.  I have a few more to show you today.  These include this Glow Worm (1044D) and the You Light Up My Life greeting (1057D) that I have used on today's card.

This cute little guy reminds me of those light up glow worm dolls they make for babies nowadays, unfortunately though, this one doesn't play a lullaby! I colored him with Copic Markers and added Stickles to his wings. The background was hand stamped using the new Retro Starburst (1059G).

This finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5" and is perfect to cheer up anyone.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy browsing the new stamps by DRS.

Stay tuned to see more very soon!

Have a wonderful day!

Jennifer

Yeah For New Stamps!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend and that you enjoyed the Super Bowl if you watched it.  Have you noticed that DRS Designs just revealed their next set of new stamps? I had to laugh when I saw Josephine the Bold (1037F). As rough and tough as she looks, I knew she'd be a perfect pair with the Unfriend You Greeting (751D) from the previous release. She is definitely not someone you want to mess with! LOL!

I colored her with Copic Markers and created my own background paper for this card.  I started with plain white cardstock and stamped it with Vicki's Versatile Background (369H) using dark blue ink.  I distressed the edges with the same ink as well.  The sentiment was very easy to stamp in 2 colors of ink since I received it as unmounted rubber. I simply cut the word 'unfriend' from the rest of the stamp and stamp them separately.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig came in handy here!

Make sure to stop by the New Release page over at DRS Designs and check out the rest of their new stamps. I'll show off more of them in the days to come.

Thanks for stopping by to check out Josephine!!

Jennifer

Time To Celebrate!

Hey Everybody! My Birthday's almost here!

As the Design Team Coordinator for DRS Designs, I'm the one who picks the themes for their weekly blog challenges. Since this is my birthday week, I thought it would be fun to see all kinds of birthday cards.

Birthdays and sweet treats often go hand-in-hand, so I used the Cherry Top Cupcake image (463E) repeatedly for the front of my birthday card. The images were colored with Copic Markers and I added fine glitter for the frosting. The cherries even look edible created by the shine you can see when Diamond Glaze dries. For the sentiment at the bottom I stamped the first portion of the Sweet Birthday Greeting (161E). The second half of it was stamped on the inside, which was decorated as well!

Now that you've seen my birthday card, create one for yourself and link it up HERE on the DRS Blog for a chance to win some free stamps!

Until next time,
Smiles,
Jennifer
