Big Bunny Face

Geez, Monday already! Where does the weekend go? Working every other weekend, I guess I really look forward to my weekends home and they just fly right by.  This past weekend however, we were really busy so I'm sure that made things go even quicker than usual.

Saturday I spent the afternoon with the girls for what we try to do as our monthly stamping get-together.  I was bound and determined to make it a successful night, and it was! A lot of my free time last week I spent planning out some projects and then made a list of all the supplies I would need to pack to make them while at Kimmy's house.  I'm happy to report I made 5 cards! With all of the chatting and snacking we do, this is an amazing record for me! I really liked how they all turned out, so that is an added bonus! ;-)

One of the cards I made was this Easter card.  Both the Blooming Easter Greeting (660F) and the Big Bunny Face (639G) are by DRS Designs

I colored the bunny face with Copic Markers and the bottom pink panel was texturized using a paper crimper.  I've had my crimper forever and I'm glad I finally put it to use--of course I'm hoping to use it more often as well!  I simply embellished this card using a decorative border punch, pink grosgrain ribbon and 4 tiny purple brads.

Have a Wonderful Monday and Thanks for stopping by!

Green Beer!

While blog hopping the other day, I was immediately inspired by this sketch on the 365 Cards Blog.  It looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to give it a try.  This Green Beer card was the outcome, and each part of this card easily fell right into place!

All of the stamps used on this card are by DRS Designs.  I created my own designer paper by stamping the Shamrock Background (326H) with dark green ink. I also distressed the edges of the green and white cardstock pieces in the background.  The Drink Green Beer Greeting (644G) and the One Line St. Pat's Day Greeting (636D) are from DRS Designs brand new St. Patrick's Day collection and were recently released.

I couldn't help but add some Diamond Glaze to the Large Beer Mug (577H) to make it look like real glass and some Stickles to the foam really makes it fun!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a wonderful Day!

Shamrock Day

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and if you love this day as much as my Husband than I bet you're all giddy about it too!  He's like a silly little kid in a candy store and makes me laugh when he tells me all about his St. Patty's Day plans.  To me, it's just another day and I will attempt to be festive and wear green that day, but unlike my Husband, taking the day off of work for it is not one of my priorities!

Speaking of priorities, I'm on a mission to show off DRS Designs latest St. Patty's Day and Easter stamps that were recently released.  This is my lastest creation showing off the newly released Shamrock Circle (619L) and Celtic Knot (651D).  The Shamrock Circle was colored with Copic Markers, and the light green panel in the background was stamped repeatedly with the Celtic Knot using Versamark ink.  I've also used the One Line Luck O the Irish sentiment (206D) and Tiny St. Pat's Day Sentiment (249A), both of which can be found in DRS Designs current catalog.

Lucky for me I am off of work today and have an all day date in my stamp room.  I love days like this! More cards coming soon!

Show Some Love Now Complete!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Several days ago I posted about this week's Spoonfull of Sugar Blog Challenge "Show Some Love."  At the time, I was unable to post my project for it because it wasn't complete.  Well, now that we've returned from our mini vacation (pics coming soon) I'm glad to say that I've finally finished it just in time for Valentine's Day.  Since today is my day to post on the DRS Designs Blog you'll have to run over there to see it.  Here's a sneak peek, just in case you need a bit of prompting! (*wink*)

Irish Teddy!

My, how 2011 is flying by already! Valentine's Day is practically here and gone, and before we know it the world will turn green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. DRS Designs has just come out with some great St. Patrick's Day stamps to celebrate this festive holiday and I've used several of them on my card today.

The adorable focal image is the new Paddy Bear (638H). I colored him with Copic Markers. The background was created using the Celtic Knot (651D), and the sentiment is the Top O The Morning Greeting (620D). Embellished with a bit of ribbon and some green brads, I can't help but say I think this card turned out rather cute! I hope you enjoyed it!

Lead Me, Guide Me

While playing around with DRS Designs new releases, I was able to put together a card that follows last weeks Splitcoast Sketch challenge, SC318. I colored the Holy Bible image (542H) with Copic Markers. It is not one of their new releases, but I thought it went well with the new Lead Me Guide Me Greeting (629D). As you can see, I added the yellow background panel so I had a lighter color cardstock to stamp the sentiment on. This made it more easily seen than if I had stamped it on the red cardstock without adding the extra panel. I decorated it with a decorative border punch and used a Score Pal to add a single embossed line above it. Some red grosgrain ribbon was placed in a know just above this line. I also used 5 tiny brads on the card base front for some added decor. This finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5."

Hope you have a great day!

Easter Daffodils

One of my favorite things about Spring and Easter is daffodils.  Next to the Sunflower in the Fall, they are one of my favorite flowers.  I especially enjoy coloring them and creating cards using images of them.  The picture above is a sneak peek of what I created for today's post on the DRS Designs blog.  I hope you'll run over there to see it.

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Winter Cheer!

As if we haven't had enough snow and "Winter Cheer" here in Southern Michigan already, My Husband and I will be traveling soon to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to visit family and go snowmobiling.   No matter how bad we think we've had it here, there's always a ton more snow there.  We've seen snow piles on the side of the road as high at 5 feet.   Although I'm bummed that I won't be snowmobiling this year (something tells me pregnancy and snowmobiling just don't mix) I'm looking forward to driving to all of our favorite snowmobile places and meeting our family of snowmobilers at each location.  One of my favorite places is going to Tahquamenon Falls.  Here's what they looked like when we were there last February.  A lot different from the unfrozen pics in the link, huh?!?!

Here's a card I recently made that was inspired by all of the snow we've gotten here lately, and the excitement of getting to go up North soon.  Do you DRS Designs fans recognize this image?  The Ice Skates image (373H) was one of their favorites that they recently retired and brought back due to popular demand!

I colored the skates with Copic Markers, matted it with purple cardstock and added 2 dark blue snowflake brads to the left side of the image.  I created the background by stamping the Interlocking Snowflake background (015H) with dark blue ink.  I matted this panel with dark blue cardstock that was decorated with a border punch, and adhered it to a purple A2 cardstock base.  The Snowflakes and Winter Cheer sentiment (135G) was a bit too tall for the bottom of the card, so I cut it into 2 parts between the words 'friendship' and 'and' so that I could move the bottom portion of the sentiment a bit to the right to make it fit.  A fun blue bow finished off this card nicely.

I know after this trip up North, I will be plenty done with the snow and Old Man Winter.  If you, too are getting that feeling, make sure to check out DRS Designs new St. Patty's Day and Easter designs on their New Release page.  They'll have you itchin' for Spring in no time! Until next time...

Let It Snow!

Here in Michigan we're experiencing one of the biggest snow storms ever! We're expected to get over 1 foot of snow and at this time it has already been snowing for over 18 hours! There's obviously no way of getting around Mother Nature and Old Man Winter today so, LET-IT-SNOW!

All of the stamps used on this card are by DRS Designs.  I colored those cute little penguins on the Let It Snow Penguins stamp (571K) with Copic Markers.  I inked the edges with a light purple Color Box ink pad, used a decorative corner punch and then matted it.  The middle panel was stamped using the Interlocking Snow Background (015H).  I inked the edges of this panel too with blue ink and added a purple and blue polka dot ribbon after it was matted.  I stamped the Warm Wishes Greeting (611D) on the background panel before embossing it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I added some random blue and purple brads and adhered these 3 layers to a blue cardstock base.

The good news for today is that based on the groundhog, only 6 more weeks of Winter! Yeah!
Hope you're all staying warm!

Smiles,
Jennifer
